TESTING Testing of basic circuits: 1. Firstly connect the black terminal of the Digital Multimeter to the ground of the supply source and then turn the knob to 20V DC voltage. 2. Make sure the knoch of all the IC’s including microcontroller are same as given above. 3. Then check the continuity and short circuit of the PCBs. 4. And then check the voltages at pin o (output) of all the three 7805 and check it should be +5 volts. 5. Check the voltage at pin 40 and 31 of the microcontroller it should be +5 volts. 6. Then check the voltage at pin 10 of ULN2803 IC it should be +12 volts. 7. Finally Check the voltage at pin 9 of ULN2803 IC it should be 0 volts Testing of Serial Port Hardware Software: Step 1: Testing of USB to UART device 1. First of all see the name of USB to UART device. Eg : FTDI converter 2. Then download and install the driver in your computer if it is not provided to you. 3. Then restart the computer. 4. Connect the device with the computer. 5. Now right click on the my computer icon as shown below 6. And then click on the device manager as shown below 7. As it is clearly shown below if ‘Ports (COMLPT)’ appears then click on it, if not then device is not properly connected with the computer or the driver is not properly installed now repeat the steps from 4 – 7.
